Treasures of World Philately II.
The exhibition will take place from 28 October 2023 – 5 November 2023 with fixed opening hours 10 am – 6 pm.*
* On 28 October 2023, will be the exhibition opened between 10 am and 3 pm.
Scheduled guided tour: Friday 3 November 2023 from 16.00.
The merch of the exhibition – catalogue including the occasional black print, and the exhibition’s own stamps – will be available for purchase at the exhibition. Both cash and card payments are accepted.
Accompanying program – we have 2 lectures planned. The first lecture was arranged by one of the leading experts on investment philately in the Czech Republic – Mr Radek Novák prepared a lecture on the topic: Postage stamps: hobby or investment? on Sunday 29 October 2023 at 2 pm. The second lecture will be given by Mr. Lubor Kunc: Austro-Hungarian Navy in China 1914-1918 on Thursday 2 November 2023 at 4 pm.
You are also welcome to request a guided tour at any time – members are always at the exhibition and can be recognised by their distinctive “Club Member” lanyards.
The exhibition Treasures of World Philately II. presents over sixty philatelic rarities of exceptional importance from private collections from all over Europe in the splendid Art Nouveau halls of the Municipal House The exhibition is organised by the Prestige Philately Club Prague in cooperation with the oldest philatelic club – the Österreichischer Philatelisten Club Vindobona – and the most prestigious philatelic club in the world – the Club de Monte-Carlo. This unique exhibition format with present a collection of rare stamps, letters and other exclusives; this exhibition format will be presented in Czech Republic for the second time, but with a completely different line-up than during the first time, in 2020.
Among the displayed rarities there will be plenty of completely exclusive samples, such as the Terezin 25-block from 1943, Amundsen’s letters from the South Pole, overprinted 4-page stamps of the Czechoslovak Post from 1919, colonial stamps, a commemoration of the centenary of hyperinflation in Germany in 1923 or a letter that travelled around the world for 100 days.
An important partner of the exhibition is the Czech Post, which on this occasion will issue a series of stamps with the exhibited rarities, and the Postal Museum, which will present period uniforms among other exhibits.

Open Day – Ministry of Industry and Trade
As part of the Open Day of the Treasures of World Philately II exhibition, you can also look forward to an associated programme organised by the Ministry of Industry and Trade – the Open Day will take place on 28 October 2023 at the premises of the Ministry from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Na Františku 32, Prague 1.
On the occasion of the establishment of independent Czechoslovakia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade is opening its doors to the Na Františku building. In addition to a tour of the representative premises, conference rooms, the minister’s office and the glass dome, a rich accompanying programme awaits you.You can look forward to an exhibition of the Technical University of Ostrava and their sophisticated robots, a presentation of robotics or artificial intelligence.The open day will also include the Mobile Post Office, a functional mobile branch of the Czech Post.

Combined tickets can only be purchased at the historic Municipal House ticket office, which is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Individual discounts cannot be combined with each other.
