Sběratel 2024
Praha Letňany
On September 6–7, 2024, the annual Sběratel 2024 (Collector Fair) took place at the Prague Exhibition Grounds in Letňany. This major event attracts thousands of visitors over the course of its two days.
The prestigious Prague Philatelic Club (PPCP) hosted a small booth at the fair, where catalogs from the Biennial Exhibitions of 2020 and 2023 were available for purchase, along with the club’s exclusive stamps issued to commemorate these prestigious events.
To draw attention to the booth and boost sales, Mr. Roman Šorejs prepared a new two-frame exhibit specifically for the fair. The exhibit focused on Operation Anthropoid—the assassination of Acting Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich in 1942—and the most significant philatelic artifact from the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia: the “Heydrich Souvenir Sheet,” often referred to as “the most expensive souvenir sheet in the world.”
The exhibit marked a historical first by showcasing the sheet numbered 622, accompanied by its original matching-numbered envelope, as well as Memorial Plaques and their dispatch envelope. These items were issued one year after Heydrich’s death as part of memorial commemorations.
The exhibit drew significant interest from both philatelists and the general public, establishing itself as one of the highlights organized by PPCP in 2024.
