Success of the Czech exhibitor in London
London
Every year the prestigious Royal Philatelic Society of London (RPSL) organises a competitive exhibition of single-frame exhibits, whose winner is decided not by the jury but by the members present. This traditional event is called the ‘Devonshire Bowl‘ and is held at the Royal Society’s headquarters in the City’s financial district.
This year’s competition, which took place on 6th of July 2023, attracted over 20 exhibits not only from the UK, but also from several European countries. The overall winner, who was awarded with the Devonshire Cup, was Mr Chris Symonds with his exhibit “GB – The Victorian 5 Shilling Postage Stamps 1867–1901“. Second place and the Devonshire plaque was awarded to a member of our Society, Mr Jiri Kraus, with his exhibit “Dr Vaclav Vojtech – The First Czech in Antarctica“.
Congratulations to the successful exhibitor and PPCP member for this success, which has not been achieved by any Czech philatelist so far!
